Nmhm Logo 2021 Options Eng 2 HighApril is National Minority Health Month, a time to raise awareness about health disparities that continue to affect racial and ethnic minority groups. The COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted the African American and Latino communities – making up 62% of the positive cases in Harris County.

Vaccines have shown to be safe and effective at helping protect people from getting the virus. In Harris County, only 16% of African Americans and 29% of Hispanics have received their vaccines. The COVID-19 vaccine is an important tool to help us get back together with our families, communities, schools, and workplaces — and bringing an end to the pandemic.
