Heat exhaustion is a result of your body overheating. The summer months in the Houston heat, we all need to be aware of the symptoms of Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stoke.  Heat Exhaustion is one of three heat-related syndromes that we can suffer from.  Heat Cramps are among the mildest and Heat Stroke is the most severe.

Heat Stroke is also caused by your body overheating from prolonged exposure in the summer heat or with physical activity.  Heatstroke requires emergency treatment. Untreated heatstroke can quickly damage your brain, heart, kidneys and muscles. The damage worsens the longer treatment is delayed, increasing your risk of serious complications or death.

What are the causes of Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke?

Exposure to high temperatures, especially when there is high humidity along with strenuous physical activity.  Although Heat Exhaustion is preventable, if left untreated it can lead to a life-threatening condition which is Heat Stroke.
