February is American Heart Month, a great time to commit to managing your heart’s health. While heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S., it’s often preventable through healthy lifestyle choices and the management of health conditions.

According to the CDC, the leading risk factors for heart disease are high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, smoking, obesity, unhealthy diet, and physical inactivity. The best way to address any concerns is to talk to your health care provider. From taking your blood pressure to discussing family history, you’ll gain an understanding of your heart disease risk. If you haven’t scheduled your annual check-up this year, click here or call (713) 426-0027.

Are you worried about the cost?

At Avenue 360, we believe income or insurance status should not determine the quality of health care you receive. As a community health center, we use a sliding fee discount program. If you are uninsured, you are eligible for the sliding scale. Call (713) 426-0027 for more information.
