Sandy Stacy, RN
Sandy Stacy, RN has faithfully served people dying with HIV for nearly 30 years. An inspiration to hundreds of volunteers and clinical teammembers, Sandy has cared for over 1400 patients as they experienced their last mile and comforted countless family members and loved ones. In 1988, while working at a Montrose community medical office, Sandy developed a commitment to the LGBTQ community. In 1994, she secured her nursing degree from Houston Community College and that same year, began her nursing career at Omega House Hospice as resident care team leader. By 1998, Sandy was appointed Director of Nursing, and in 2015, she became director of Omega House Hospice. The Bering Omega Board of Trustees bestowed the Camille Zamora Award on her in 2016. Sandy has served with the Association of Nurses in AIDS care and serves as treasurer of the Houston Chapter of Hospice and Palliative Nurses.
