National Volunteer Week 2024

Celebrate Our Volunteers

Every Moment Matters

As we approach National Volunteer Appreciation Week (April 21-27, 2024), it’s time to reflect on the invaluable contributions of volunteers. This year’s theme, Every Moment Matters, encapsulates the essence of volunteerism at Avenue 360 Health + Wellness.

As a community health center, with six clinics and our hospice, Omega House, a compassionate home to end-of-life patients for more than 35 years, we understand that volunteers are the beacon of hope for many in our community. As the backbone of Omega House in Montrose, our dedicated volunteers provide selfless service, commitment, and the compassion needed to keep our operations humming along under the leadership of
Omega House Director, Sandy Stacy, RN.

Every day, our volunteers make a difference. They are the friendly faces at the reception desk, the comforting voices on the phone, the helping hand and compassionate caregivers in the most vulnerable times of need. They are there in every moment that matters, providing support, care, and comfort to our patients and their families.

Stacy recently expressed feelings of gratitude for volunteers stating, “During National Volunteer Appreciation Week, we want to take the opportunity to express our deepest appreciation to our volunteers. We want to celebrate their achievements, their dedication, and their spirit of giving. We want their empathy and compassion to inspire others.”

This year’s theme, Every Moment Matters, is a reminder that every act of volunteerism, no matter how small, has a significant impact. It’s about recognizing that every moment our volunteers spend with us contributes to our mission, enhances our services, and enriches our community.

“The importance of celebrating our volunteers cannot be overstated. Recognition not only shows our appreciation for their hard work but also highlights the impact of their contributions. It sends a powerful message to our community about the value of volunteering and encourages others to get involved,” stated President and CEO of Avenue 360 H+W, Dr. Charlene Flash.

Our volunteers are more than just helpers; they are our partners in care. They bring diverse skills, experiences, and perspectives that enhance our ability to provide comprehensive care. They help us reach more people, deliver better services, and create a more inclusive health environment.

As we celebrate our volunteers, let’s remember that every moment our volunteers give matters. Every task they undertake, every patient they comfort, every smile they share – it all adds up to make a significant difference.

So, here’s to our volunteers, the heart and soul of our community health center. Thank you for making every moment matter. Your dedication, compassion, and commitment are not only appreciated but also celebrated. You are our heroes, and this week, we honor you. Learn More About Omega House.
