A New Year’s Message from our CEO
January 09 2018
As the team at Avenue 360 Health & Wellness embraces the newness of 2018 with the goals and resolutions we hope to achieve, we do so with the knowledge that our greatest past successes stem from healthy partnerships in our community. Collaboration is key for Avenue 360 Health & Wellness, and I want to begin the year by thanking you for your trust and support in our work.
As a Federally Qualified Health Center providing healthcare services to Houstonians and residents of Harris County, Avenue 360 offers a holistic solution for those seeking a medical home—a place where patients can access a full array of health services from pediatrics and dental care, to primary care, OB/GYN and behavioral health services. For over 30 years, Avenue 360 Health & Wellness has brought a 360-degree approach to addressing health equity and social determinants of health where the patient is truly at the center of the healthcare model, receiving medical, dental, behavioral health, housing and support services.
Despite an admittedly challenging year for all, Avenue 360 still has much to celebrate and build upon from 2017, including:
- Provided health services to more than 9,400 Houstonians
- Completed 30 years of service for the greater Houston community with determination and a welcoming approach to patients so that they can enjoy greater success in their personal life, in addition to an improved medical outlook
- Grant award in partnership with AIDS Foundation Houston, Inc. and University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work to implement Project CORE to coordinate HIV treatment, housing and employment services to improve health outcomes for low-income, uninsured and underinsured people living with HIV in racial and ethnic minority communities
- Grant award for a pre-existing HRSA program focused on uninsured and underinsured individuals and families below 200% of federal poverty level. We hope to partner with the previous program lead agency to create a smooth transition and uninterrupted service for those in need, as we have always done in past.
Again, thank you for your part in supporting our mission to serve this community. We take our stewardship of your investments of trust, time, and money seriously. A testament to our proven track record is the progress and forward momentum by securing grant awards big and small for renewing and new projects. As you begin the New Year, we wish you good health and look forward to collaborating with you in taking great care of our neighbors in need.
